Fun of the week

  I have decided to start a new rubric called "Fun of the week". May be you guessed what it will be about, but I will still give a little explanation. Every week I will post a new article containing one funny stuff connected to football. Possible content will be funny football picture, any funny football clip or unknown but funny fact.

Football Positions: Goalkeeper

Definition

  As the name speaks by itself, a goalkeeper is a player who keeps the goal. Positioned in the penalty area, the job of the football goalkeeper is to prevent the opposition players from scoring. He is the only player on the field allowed to use his hands (only in penalty area). Other main duties of the goalkeeper are to organize the defense.

  Today we will start a new rubric called "Football Positions". I know a lot of football fans, who argue about the position of some player and often the discussion overs, because one of the participants did not know what the name of the position means (i.e. box to box midfielder). I feel that every man keen on football should know at least the positions of players, so I've decided to start a rubric with definition of all the position in the modern football.

Focus on

  My first rubric will be called "Focus on". As the name speaks by itself, it will be series of articles about an interesting player. The articles will have useful information about the player, some already known information and rating, evaluated by original formula created by AnalyzeFootball. 

  I think that these articles will be something like a scout base and useful analysis of player’s game. Of course I will write only about the top attracting players, which I think will be top addition to the best leagues. My plans are to write about one or two articles a month. May be at the end of the football calendar (of course for top leagues in Europe) I will write an analysis on the chosen players and will evaluate overall performance rating.

What football means to me?

  As you expected the first post will be an explanation of my passion about football. I have been in love with this sport since I was 6 years old. The first touch with the football was when I was visiting my grandparents for the summer holiday and we watched the famous European championship 92' when "the red dynamite" wins the gold medals. My memory is that I can not watching the penalties in the semi-final between Denmark and Holland. On the other day I wake up, go fast downstairs and found the breakfast with a note:

"Denmark wins. Van Basten missed a penalty"
