Focus on: Review of season 2012-2013

  The season for the major football leagues is over. All of the clubs will make a review of what they have achieved and at what point they should direct for the next season. We think that it is a time for our promised review of the rubric "Focus on". We have just managed to write only two articles in the rubric, but as we have already declared in the first article of it, we will post a complete review once the season is over. So the time has come.

Focus on: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

  Wilfried Bony continued his good form and helped his team Vitesse to finish 4th in Dutch Eredivisie and to earn the right to play in Europa League for a second consecutive time. This time the club will start in the third qualifying round and they will pray for a better luck in the draw, because in the previous edition, they have been knocked out by Anzhi's wealthy selection. The ivorian player scored 31 goals and became the goalscorer of the league. Bony proved to be one of the golden bites in the league, so of course he is one of the most interesting players in the summer transfer window. A lot of rumors contain his name, but according to the latest speculations he will become a part of Sam Alardise' West Ham. If that happens I think that Bony will be one of the surprising players in the next season of Premier league. It is expected that the striker will become the record sale of Vitesse, as up to now the record is held by Nikos Machlas and his transfer to Ajax for 8.6 mln euros.

  Aubameyang also finished the season with a good run of perofrmances. He managed to score 3 goals and to make 2 assists in the latest 4 games of Saint Etienne. The striker added 21 goals and 16 assists to his club's account and became the player of the season for the team. The Greens have managed to win the Cup of the league and to finish 5th in League 1, which undoubtedly is their best performance in years. Saint Etienne will play in Europa League in the next season, for the first time after season 2008-2009, when they have been knocked out from the final season of UEFA Cup by german club Werder Bremen. AS like Bony, the gabonese is one of the most interesting players in the market. He was linked to many clubs in Europe, but the latest rumor sent him back to AC Milan, despite the interest and the money offered by Anzhi. Even the player have given an interview in which he confess that he want to get back to the italian giant and to prove himself there. I think that Aubameyang could be one of the pearls in the next season of Seria A.

  Despite we focused only on two players, we think that both of them are really a top choice and we can evaluate our work as good. We can proudly admit that both strikers continued their wonderful performance and proved that they deserved to be included in the rubric. Both of them have a great future ahead and will be very good piece of business in the transfer window. We will still follow their progress and if they manage to represent the same form in the next season we will write about them again.
